Arathusa Safari Lodge is located approximately 5 and a half hours from Johannesburg via an easy and scenic drive through Mpumalanga. Visitors can also fly to one of 3 airports in the area. Directions to Arathusa Safari Lodge in Sabi Sand Game Reserve

By road – from Johannesburg:

From Johannesburg, take the N12 to Witbank. At Witbank, take the N4 to Nelspruit. Take the R40 from Nelspruit to White River and proceed to Hazyview. Remain on the R40 towards Bushbuckridge, from Hazyview it is approximately 62km until you reach Acornhoek. Turn right at the traffic lights (Manyeleti / Hulamahashe / Hluvukani turn off), follow the tar road for approximately 33km.

Turn right onto a gravel road (just before the Hluvukane BP Petrol Station on the right hand side), travel down this gravel road for approximately 5km until you find a road to your left. Turn left. Travel straight down this road for approximately 16km to the “Gowrie Gate” Entrance fee to the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is payable in cash (approximately ZAR 80.00 per vehicle). Travel straight through the “Gowrie Gate”. Follow the sign for “Arathusa Safari 5.9km”.

By Road – from Hoedspruit

From Hoedspruit take the R40 towards Klaserie. Follow the R40 until you get to a T-junction. At the T-junction, turn left. Travel on this road past the Orpen Road turn off. Turn left at the traffic lights (Manyeleti / Hulamahashe / Hluvukani turn off). Follow the tar road for approximately 33km; turn right onto a gravel road (just before the Hluvukane BP Petrol Station on the right hand side).

Travel down this gravel road for approximately 5km until you find a road to your left. Turn left. Travel straight down this road for approximately 16km to the “Gowrie Gate”. By Air - scheduled flight

There are a number of flights from OR Tambo International Airport (ORTIA) in Johannesburg, into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit, and to Eastgate Airport in Hoedspruit. Arathusa can arrange road transfers between the airports and the lodge. Visitors can also choose the option of a panoramic transfer from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport to Arathusa Safari Lodge, viewing some of Mpumalanga’s most breath-taking scenery on the way.

By Air – chartered flight

It is possible for Arathusa Safari Lodge to arrange exclusive private charter flights to and from the lodge as the property has its own private airstrip (runway length: 1 200m).
