Location:
Exeter River Lodge is located in the game rich Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park, allowing game to move freely. Guests can access Exeter River Lodge either by car or air from Johannesburg.
Flights are available from OR Tambo International Airport to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). The drive from Johannesburg will take between 5 and 6 hours, depending on traffic. The distance between Johannesburg and Exeter River Lodge is 500km (310.68 miles)
How to get there:
Directions from Johannesburg, South Africa:
From Johannesburg, take the N12 / N4 and drive to Nelspruit. From Nelspruit, take the R40 to Hazyview where you should take the R536 towards the Paul Kruger Gate.
Drive for about 34km (21.12 miles) and look out for the signs indicating the private game lodges such as Exeter. Turn into the dirt road and drive for about 8.2km and pass a school located on your left.(5.09 miles). Continue along this road until you reach a four-way intersection.
At the intersection, turn right. Drive for 1.4km (0.86 miles) until you reach a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction and drive for about 800m (0.49 miles). You will see the signboards indicating Exeter game lodges on the left hand side of the road.
Turn left at the signboards and drive about 1km (0.62 miles). Continue along this road and enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve gate. You will have to pay an entrance fee per vehicle. Once you've entered, turn left immediately.
Drive past the turnoffs to Savanna, Castleton, Singita and Idube. Once you've passed the Idube sign, you will see the signboards indicating to the different Exeter game lodges. Follow the signs to Exeter River Lodge.
