Location of Elephant Plains Game Lodge

Elephant Plains Lodge is situated in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve forms part of the 2.2 million hectare Greater Kruger National Park. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve is one of the world's few remaining unspoilt wilderness areas.

Guests can access Elephant Plains Lodge either by road or air. Flights can be arranged from OR Tambo International Airport to Eastgate Airport (Hoedspruit) and Nelspruit. Chartered flights can then fly guests to Elephant Plains Lodge.

How to get there:

Directions from Johannesburg / Pretoria:

Take the N4 from Johannesburg / Pretoria. Bypass Witbank and Middelburg and continue onto Belfast. Turn left onto the R540 past Dullstroom to Lydenburg. From Lydenburg, take the R36 to Origstad. Pass through the JG Strijdom Tunnel. From the tunnel continue for approximately 27km (16.77 miles) before turning right to go towards Klaserie.

Continue straight along the Klaserie road until you reach a sign pointing to Orpen and South African Wildlife College. Turn left and continue on the R531 for about 30km (18.64 miles) until you see the entrance to the South African Wildlife College on your left hand side. Immediately after the College you will see a small dirt track. Turn off at this road and continue for about 40km (24.85 miles) before reaching the gate.

Please note: The Gowrie Gate is the only gate through whic guests can access Elephant Plains Lodge.
